I had dinner there last night. Had the 8oz sirloin and it was outstanding. We met one of the owners and she was bubbly, accommodating, and extremely friendly. We will be back again next year when we camp at Lakeside.

We chose this place on a whim after a day of fishing. We were seated quickly and Madison (our server) greeted us right away. We chose two specials for ourselves and our sons had a burger and wings. The food was delicious, the beer was cold, and our server was awesome! She explained the menu and when she found our we were vacationing she had suggestions on local hikes and outings. This place is a gem!

The food here is fantastic. Better than anything else in Albion and rivals some of the fine food establishments in Medina as well. Between my wife and I, we get out of there with two dinners, 2 drinks each and tip for under $100. You'd pay way more at other locations. Give them a shot and thank me later.

This is by far, the best place to eat in our small town of Albion. The food is amazing, authentic and home made. I’ve never had a bad meal here. The service is immaculate. Also the place is so nice and redecorated from what tillmans used to be. It feels so much cleaner and more welcoming. I love tavern on the ridge!!!!!!

Wonderful to return to the location of a once famed restaurant, to enjoy the beginnings of a new restaurant. The facility is nicely cleaned, the improvements to the rooms, furniture, and decor are wonderful. We did not have reservations and seeing the frequency of people coming and going, we should have. Regardless, we did not have to wait. We were taken into the South side of the building, where we never actually sat before. The marble looking booth tables and padded seating was very nice; the floors were amazing, and the tables and chairs were very nice. Ample room and loved the window decor with hanging stain glass for enhancement. For appetizers, we ordered Bavarian Pretzels and the cheddar sauce somewhat resembled a humus grit but thinner and creamier; a texture and flavor some may prefer. The pretzels were very good. For our main plates, we ordered a Chicken Parmesan with House Marinara over Papardelle pasta. The chicken was tender and the marinara was fine, the pasta seemed more like a Fettuccine noodle than Papardelle, but it was delicious. We also ordered a handheld, Beef on Weck Wrap with Provolone and an A-1 Aioli in a baked salt and Kimmelweck Wrap (basically a wrap, baked with salt and a few caraway seeds on it). It was very good meat flavor with a large wrap. We took half of the sandwich home and used the meat in a breakfast omelette the next morning. The side of french fries were delicious and the pickle was a perfect touch to a beef on weck wrap. I especially liked that the Heinz was in a bottle! You don't see that very often, anymore! :D Over all, we were pleased with the staff, the server was a very pleasant girl who gave us just the right amount of attention. The new owners give the place just the right amount of class. Even the thought of sitting at the bar after dining, for a drink with a few friends would be a pleasant experience. We will return.

I’m a bit torn on how to review Tavern on the Ridge. Overall, I found it to be just okay. The service was wonderful—attentive and welcoming—but the food didn’t quite meet my expectations. The appetizers were a highlight. We tried the Fried Provolone Wedges and Bavarian Pretzels, both of which were enjoyable. The Sherry Crab Soup was flavorful, with some nice-sized pieces of crab. However, the entrées and dessert left something to be desired. The Maryland Crab Cakes, while crispy on the outside, were overly mushy inside and lacked much crab flavor. The accompanying rice pilaf also had a mushy texture. The garlic green beans, on the other hand, were well-cooked and tasty. The Chicken Parmesan was just okay—the chicken had an odd texture, possibly frozen, and didn’t quite have the taste or consistency of fresh chicken. The pasta and marinara sauce were fine but nothing exceptional. For dessert, we tried the Valentine’s Day special lava cake for two. Unfortunately, the cake itself tasted microwaved and lacked flavor, though the chocolate lava filling was well-done. That said, I wouldn’t write this place off. There’s definite potential here, especially given its historic location and next to the Fair Haven Inn. With some refinements to the entrées and desserts, Tavern on the Ridge could become a fantastic dining spot. I’d happily return for drinks and appetizers, and I’d be interested in trying something from their handheld menu. While the entrees weren’t quite my “cup of tea,” I see promise in the atmosphere and service, and I hope to see this place continue to grow.
